Hi! I am Dhruvee, a fourth year student pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Masters by Research in Computing and Human Sciences from IIIT-H. I am a hardworking student always willing to try something new, indulge myself in diverse projects from the realm of Computer Science and HCI, and connect with individuals passionate about tech. I am a research student under Prof. Nazia Akhtar working on marriage and migration and how computational tools are effective in the context of gender.

I was born in Rajasthan and currently live in Dubai, UAE. Throughout my life, I have lived in a number of countries, namely, USA, Mexico, India and UAE and been to 14 schools. Living in so many cities have helped me learn about the diverse culture and made me all the more curious about the other cultures. Hence, I love travelling and learning more about different cultures. I easily adjust in new places and due to my extroverted nature, I love connecting with new people. In addition to travelling, I love dancing, swimming, playing the guitar, reading, volunteering. I have represented India in the 27th Shanghai Tourism Festival 2016, completed 6 grades of guitar Trinity and been to national level competitions in swimming.

  • Developed the front end of a mobile application that would take users emotional status as input at frequent intervals and suggest activities for the user to reach a resourceful emotional state for an event.
  • This app also acts as a medium of interaction between the users, namely, clients and emotional coaches. It was built using Flutter and Firebase.

Data Science Intern

  • A 5-level taxonomy was created and the similarity scores for all the categories with their respective sub-categories were generated.
  • Using the similarity scores, text-classifier model was developed that mapped the database categories to the newly created taxonomy categories.

A genetic algorithm for a black box optimisation problem

Brick Breaker

Built a terminal version of the brickbreaker game allowing user to control a paddle and hit bricks to gain points without exhausting all their lives.

Python Library to work with HTML-Dumps

A python library that provides an interface to parse html dumps and extract relevant features.

Airport Database Management System - Command Line Interface

Designed and populated a MySQL database, and built a Command Line Interface with PyMySQL to perform various queries such as projection, selection, aggregation, search, and modification, along with validation and verification of inputs.

A study of pandemic experiences of transgender people in India through Social media data

This project aims to assess and analyze the realities of LGBTQ+ people during the COVID-19 pandemic and how effective is the use of computational tools is in the study of gender in context of marginalized communities.

River Crossing Game

Built a game with fixed and moving obstacles with increasing levels of difficulty. Allows multiple users to compete using separate arrow keys. Allots scores according to skill and speed.
